Hill Cottage Location

Hill Cottage is the ideal base for Bird watching. Handa Island being a world renowned nature reserve and seabird colony managed by the Scottish Wildlife Trust. Situated 3 miles off the A894, 3 miles north of Scourie it enjoys a feeling of isolation. However it is only one mile from Tarbet. Here the seasonal boat to Handa Island departs and there is a Seafood restaurant and public phone box.

Walkers and Cyclists can explore the local area and Beach lovers are spoilt for choice. It is ideally situated for Sea Kayaking and Fishing. Permits are available locally in Scourie and there are numerous lochans to choose from. Anyone wanting a sense of isolation and getting away from it all will relish the cottages location.

The nearest Shop, Hotel and Petrol station are in Scourie. Larger shopping and Tourist information are available in Lairg and Ullapool while Kinlochbervie, Durness, and Cape Wrath are all within easy driving. Hill cottage is approx. 2 and a half hours drive north of Inverness through some of Scotlands most stunning scenery. Be alert as sheep and deer may well stray onto the road as you pass. The cottage is available for rent all year round on a weekly basis.
